Destiny 2: Where is Xur today? Xur location and Exotics for July 9-13

If you’re looking to get your hands on some of the best Destiny 2 Exotic weapons and armor in the game, you should buy Exotics from Xur, the mysterious vendor from the Nine that comes to the world of Destiny 2 every Friday at 1 p.m. ET and leaves the following Tuesday at the same time. Every weekend, Xur sells an Exotic weapon, an Exotic armor piece for each class, and a special Fated Engram that’s guaranteed to give you an Exotic you don’t currently own (Exotics tied to quests or raids can’t drop from these).

The weapons and armors generally cost 23-29 Legendary Shards, while the Fated Engram costs 97 Legendary Shards. You can only buy one Fated Engram each week and the Fated Engram gives armor based on the class you’re playing when you buy it, so think carefully about which character you’re using to buy from Xur.

If you want to open more than one Fated Engram with Xur, you’ll need to take the Exotic Cipher quest he offers and complete its objective. This will reward you with an Exotic Cipher that can be used to get another Exotic from Xur.

Notably, you can also use the Exotic Cipher as a currency at the Monument to Lost Lights kiosk in The Tower that allows you to obtain Exotics from content that has been put into the Destiny Content Vault. This is how I recommend using the Cipher, though if you’re a new player and don’t have many Exotics yet, using it on a second Fated Engram is also a good idea so you can fill out your collection faster.

Xur’s location changes every weekend, so players will need to find him in order to browse his Exotic wares. This week, he’s at the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus, located on a large tree branch. Check the green marker on the map below to find his location:

Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly, allowing players to obtain several Exotics they may not have already. These Exotics also come with high stat rolls that are useful when crafting some of the best Destiny 2 builds. Here’s what he’s selling this week:

  • Exotic Weapon: Fighting Lion (29 Legendary Shards)
  • Titan Exotic: Armamentarium (23 Legendary Shards)
  • Hunter Exotic: The Sixth Coyote (23 Legendary Shards)
  • Warlock Exotic: Wings of Sacred Dawn (23 Legendary Shards)

Are you excited to pick up some Exotics from Xur this weekend? Let me know. The latest Destiny 2 expansion, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, is available now for $40 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The base game is free, so if you’re looking to try Destiny 2 out before paying for expansions or season passes, you can do so.
