How to take a walk with Prince William today

Prince William is the latest guest on Apple’s Time to Walk series (Apple)

If you fancy heading out for a stroll today, there are worse rambling companions than the future King.

Prince William is the latest personality to join Apple’s Time to Walk series.

Time to Walk is basically a podcast series that the tech giant offers subscribers to its Fitness+ program.

It requires an Apple Watch, a pair of headphones and the desire to spend some time in the company of Dolly Parton, Anthony Joshua, Stephen Fry or – in this case – the Duke of Cambridge.

Prince William’s walk becomes available today, December 6, and takes about 38 minutes, which comprises talking interspersed with some music.

Apple describes Time to Walk as an ‘inspiring audio experience’ and the Duke of Cambridge’s will focus on mental health.

‘In his Time to Walk episode, Prince William talks about the importance of keeping mentally fit,’ Apple says.

‘He also reflects on a lighthearted moment when he was drawn out of his comfort zone, the value of listening as a way to empower others, and an experience that led him to prioritize mental health.’

Each Time to Walk episode ranges from 25 to 40 minutes and is recorded while the guest walks outside or in locations that are meaningful to them.

To access it, subscribers need to go into the Workout app on the Apple Watch and have Bluetooth-enabled headphones connected.

Although Fitness+ is a £10-a-month subscription, Apple does offer three months for free with the purchase of a new Apple Watch.

It is also airing Prince William’s Time to Walk episode for free on its Apple Music 1 channel.
